Greetings,
During my pastimes while shopping and seeking to expand upon my existing wardrobe, I engaged in dialogue with various men who expressed a desire for more bold, daring, and interesting dress attire. I developed this website with a threefold purpose, to 1) inspire mens' tastes for dashing apparel; 2) feature the artistic elements of prominent commercial freelance artists of Apparel Arts magazine who were influenced by the ongoing cultural and societal changes reflected in their technique, and 3) develop both a library and galleria to catalog and make aware these illustrations for future generations so that they are not lost in antiquity.
The majority of these images I found on the internet, and some come from Sven Raphael Schneider's Gentlemen of Style e-book and website. Whereas most sites feature these images as an unorganized collage along with authorship misinformation intended to inspire dressiness, this site aims to recognize and pay homage to those artists whose works have captured and preserved a lost element of American cultural heritage that most take for granted nowadays. I welcome you to enjoy these images as well as the artistry and creativity involved that provides a window into the past.
Sincerely,
Lance Patterson
